Move over matcha...iced moringa in the house.

Don't get me wrong, I love matcha, but more recently, I have been loving swapping my iced matcha for my signature iced moringa. I use the Beauty + Brains elixir from my line (obviously). Beauty + Brains also contains tocos, which if you're not using, you totally should be!

I blend 12 oz. of filtered water with a tbsp. of the blend and a splash of MCT oil or a tbsp. of almond butter. Pour it over ice with an optional splash of coconut milk...SO GOOD I couldn't not share.

So how does moringa compare to matcha?

Moringa is higher in calcium, vitamin C and vitamin A, in addition to fiber. Moringa is also a significant source of protein. Unlike matcaha, moringa is an adaptogenic herb (hence why you'll find it as the main ingredient in my Beauty + Brains adaptogenic elixir). Adaptogenic herbs work to lower stress hormones, while each offering their own individual medicinal properties. Matcha is a source or EGCG or epigallocatechin-3-gallate, a powerful polyphenol which supports brain health, heart health and weight loss. Both moringa and matcha are high in antioxidants that support skin, heart and brain health.

Moringa is an adaptogen known for its anti-inflammatory effect on the body. It protects the brain and cardiovascular system by keeping inflammation low and reducing the effects of oxidative stress. It also serves to keep the liver functioning optimally by reducing liver oxidation.

Tocos is a fat soluble source of vitamin E. Vitamin E, like moringa, is important for keeping the heart and brain functioning optimally. In addition, vitamin E nourishes the skin, hair and nails. Tocos is a powerful tonic for the endocrine and nervous systems.
