cbd vs. a d a p t o g e n s 〰️ with the surge in cbd products / companies, we’re often asked about the difference between cbd and adaptogens + if cbd is an adaptogen. the short answer is, no...cbd is not an adaptogen. and although cbd can have a calming + anti-inflammatory affect on the physiology (amongst other benefits), there are key distinctions that make an adaptogen an adaptogen. #adaptogens work on the level of the nervous system to, overtime, build up our body’s resilience to stress (be that physical, emotional, chemical or environmental stress). essentially, this resilience is the type of resilience that turns our systems into self regulating machines...meaning that our body’s intelligence is sharpened and its ability to process stress efficiently, reorient + move on is enhanced. when referencing adaptogens, this is a key quality that distinguishes adaptogens and other plants. all that said, we love the combination of adding in a few drops of cbd to our elixirs! xᴏ #byerikaelizabeth #adaptmore
the modern existence 〰️ the modern world we’ve created through technology is one that our internal system hasn’t fully evolved to thrive in and one we don’t fully understand the repercussions of. because of this, it’s increased our system’s total load (meaning how much stress we’re carrying/managing at any given time). while stress chemistry increases, our capacity to digest + assimilate, not just the food on our plates but our experiences in life, decreases. while most of wellness is fixated on figuring out what to remove & how to live the “purest” life possible, we believe in shifting the focus to enhancing + amplifying our systems to be able to function optimally within this modern world that we’ve created. the fact is, technology is only going to continue to expand and we’re living in a time of experimentation. we can’t control everything we come in contact with, while still living l i f e . what we CAN do is turn back to nature’s intelligence (after all, we are nature) and align our systems, as much as possible, with nature. more to come on this with the launch of our new brand + community platform in 2020. this is why i’m so passionate about adaptogens + plant medicine. these remedies are filled with information that our systems recognize and therefore realigns us with nature + perfect health. can’t wait to share more!! xᴏ #byerikaelizabeth #adaptmore ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ: @josephine_virginia
